Dirk Whitsitt, a construction worker from Kansas, caught a 231 pound halibut only about one hour into his first Alaskan fishing trip!
The Pacific halibut was caught in the waters of the Cook Inlet in Homer, Alaska. It took Whitsitt a good 45 minutes to reel in the 231 pound monster! And that's not even the largest. Check this out!
Incredible! This must have taken all 4 men to reel in! And it's still not the biggest halibut! Check this out...
This whale of a fish. This ocean-displacing swimmer. This is the world's largest recorded halibut. If it falls on your foot, it crushes your foot. One can't help but stand in awe of it, and then eat it.
